This project gave main sight knowledge on Recruitment and Selection procedure especially for Manufacturing and Service industries. During these two months all the HR team of Pace HR Innovation PVT LTD put all their efforts in giving me the best possible training on various inner sight of Recruitment & Selection procedure. The project had started with Interview process as I had gone through one of my friend reference who is already working in Pace HR Innovation Pvt.Ltd After interview process, the Induction program was conducted by HR executive of Pace HR I nnovation PVT LTD. The induction program gave me the entire overview of the organization its Mission and Vision. The training session was then followed by Recruitment and Selection procedure which was taken by HR members responsible for conducting the recruitment process for the company. The HR trainee taught the process step by step each day by virtually showing the process of Recruitment and Selection.The HR trainee also explained that how success of every company begins with finding and hiring of good employees at regular intervals. Recruiting the right person for the right Post is the main motto of HR department. It need not be difficult though, as long as the process of recruitment & selection it is approached in a careful and systematic manner. The HR trainee also explained that Recruitment and Selection, strictly are differentiated functions, the recruitment process deals with the forming a pool of applicants, whereas Selection process deals with picking out the best employee .However, in practice no clear distinction is seen between the two it is considered as an integrated process. Recruitment must start with a thorough assessment of immediate staff requirements. The vacant job should be analyzed and a job description should be prepared which in turn becomes easier for the employee who wants to apply for the post. Attention must also be given to future vacancies of the organizationalso. The HR trainee also explained the possible sources of recruitment – internal and external which have to be studied and performed in an organized manner.Then HR trainee also explained as how to screen and shortlist the candidates CVs as per the requirements of various departments and inviting candidates possessing different skills and talent and also explained as how to conduct a telephonic interview and how to arrange interviews as per both the parties’convenience. 1. After completion of all the selection process the suitable employee should be selected an d should be provided with offer letter. HR trainer also explained as how to conduct induction programmeand necessary instruction given during the induction programme.The training program included not only Recruitment process but also various management games, how write appropriate mails to candidates, communication skills. During the project I found that Interview process was conducted in satisfactory manner. The HR department of Pace Hr innovation Pvt. Ltd. follows both the internal and external sources for conducting the recruitment process. I also noticed that it was difficult to conduct interview process, as candidates where not able to reach for the interview as per the time schedule.The major factor affecting the recruitment policy is the Pay Packages provided by the organization. The test duration for the senior level officer and fresher is too long. Though it is beneficial but time consuming and it also takes a lot of effortto find the exact candidate with required skills, e xperience, qualification etc on the portals. During the project I also recommended that the company should develop or provide software which would provide quick result as the test is over. So the time is saved in evaluation.The advertisement of the company should be done on the large scale so that the company would get more outsourced work from the various large organizations. The company should find some type of technology in place of the large amount of paper work and thus work can be done faster and the time is saved. The selected candidates should be given training at their work place which in turn will give them proper view of their work process and Organization should reward their employees regularly which will increase their work efficiency and will become more loyal towards their organization.And thus I concluded that the company follows a standard policy to recruit employeesand the existing recruitment policy is adequate but modern methods of recruitment and selection shoul d be adopted to be more effective. The present recruitment policy is flexible enough as it has undergone several changes from time to time to suit the requirements of the organizations and in the company, both internal & external sources of recruitment are used.Lastly HR members explained that the main motto of HR department is to take care of the employees working in the organization and also to make them effective and efficient to achieve the goals of the organizations. 2. Ltd company Outsourcing, has been defined as sub-contracting of a process to a third party. The decision for outsourcing is based on a lot of deliberation on a process to be so outsourced and its importance for a direct control by the busi ness pros ; cons of the resources attached to the process So, The steps a business person need to take to outsource any process? 1.Deliberation: This is the first step for outsourcing. Any business needs to first identify the reasons for outsourcing, the pros ; cons of outsourcing and then only decide in favor of it. Outsourcing needs to be seen as a part of strategic business decision and the outsourcing vendor needs to be seen as a partner in the overall growth strategy of the business. 2. Invitation of proposals: Once the business decides that it wants to outsource a certain process, the next step is to sort out various vendors offering their expert services in the same category as the process belongs to.In today's world, with the wide usage of internet, proposals may be invited from vendors outside the local area of operation of the business. 3. Negotiation: This step is the natural fallout of the second step. All the proposals are first compared to understand the pros and cons of each vendor. A face to face meet or a telephonic meeting may be held to clarify the requirements of the business and the vendors' response. Based on the interaction, the number of vendors in the fray would be significantly reduced to a couple of vendors.At this stage, the business needs to do a proper due diligence of the remaining vendors and also negotiate on the prices andtermsofservices. 4. Finalization of contract: Once the negotiation round is over, the business can take a decision about the vendor it would want to partner with. Once this decision is made, the business would then draft the legal agreement/contract that needs to be signed by the business and the selected vendor before the actual outsourcing starts. This is one of the most critical stages since the business needs to be very specific about the terms and conditions.There shall not be any ambiguity in the legal contract. It would be better if the contract specifies the jurisdiction of the contract and how any di sagreement, if anycanberesolved. 5. Transition: This is the step where the process transfer takes place. This also includes the knowledge transfer from the business to the outsourcing vendor. In this stage, the business would do good to outline the SLAs (Services Level Agreement) which would measure the work being done by the outsourcing firm. 6. Ongoing Service delivery: This is the stage where the services of the outsourcing firm are availed by the business.If the agreement between the two parties talks about any fixed term, then this stage continues till the time such fixed term is not over. Else, this stage continues till the time the business doesnotterminatethecontractofoutsourcing. 6. 7. Termination or Renewal: If the contract talks about any fixed term or any other condition that would trigger termination of the contract, then on the occurrence of such an incident, the contract may be terminated. In case of the term getting over, the contract may either be terminated or rene wed. In ase of renewal, both the parties may re-negotiate on the price terms or any other terms that need a re-look. if the contract is terminated, the next step would involve the outsourcing firm to giving back the outsourcing process and related resources to the business or to any other outsourcing firm the business has appointed. * Company’s Prestigious Clients INFOSYS. The success or failure of an organization is largely dependent on the caliber of the people working within the organization. Employee should be creative, talentedand goal achievable person who will achieve the organizations goal and objective. Thus organization will progress and prosper. In order to achieve the goals or the activities of an organization it is necessaryto recruit people with adequate skills, qualifications and experience.While doing so, they have to keep the present as well as the future requirements of the organization in mind. Recruitment is distinct from Employment and Selectio n. Once the required number of vacant position are determined and kind of human resources requirement , The HR management has to find the ways from where the required human resources will be available and also find the means of attracting them towards the organization before selecting suitable candidates for jobs. HR professional has a big responsibility to hire the best person from the talent pool. At the same time, one needs to be cost conscious.It is a good practice in Recruitment ; Selection process to be objective and seek to identify the candidate’s abilities. Judge on individual merits and set the same standard for all. One needs to use the technology, to get the best results and it is also necessary to possess the healthy relationship with employees. Thus in order to achieve the best result from the recruitment ; selection process, one needs to strategies on following points. * Adopting the right method of recruitment, this is more efficient in terms of cost and time without compromising on quality. Reducing the risk of employing people who cannot perform. Hence these procedures will play major role in driving the organization in forward direction. 9. Concept of Human Resources Management Human Resource Management is a process of bringing people and organizations together so that the goals of each are met. It tries to secure the best from people by winning their wholehearted cooperation. In short, it may be defined as the art of procuring, developing and maintaining competent workforce to achieve the goals of an organization in an effective and efficient manner. It has the following features: I.Pervasive force: HRM is pervasive in nature. It is present in all enterprises. It permeates all levels of management in an organization. ii. Human Resource Management (HRM) is the function within an organization that focus es on recruitment of, management of, and providing direction for the people who work in the organization.Human Resource Management can also be performed by line managers. Human Resource Management is the organizational function that deals with issues related to people such as compensation, hiring, performance management, organization development, safety, wellness, benefits, employee motivation, communication, administration, and training. Effective HRM enables employees to contribute effectively and productively to the overall company direction and the accomplishment of the organization's goals and objectives. 11. RECRUITMENT PROCESS Recruitment forms the first stage in the process which continues with selection and ceases with the placement of the candidate. Recruitment makes it possible to acquire the number and types of people necessary to ensure the continued of operation of the organization. Recruitment is the discovering of potential applicants for actual or anticipated organizational vacancies.In other words, it is a ‘Linking activity’ bringing together those with jobs and those seeking jobs. As Yoder and others point out â€Å"Recruitment is a process to discover the sources of manpower to meet the recruitments of the staffing schedule and to employ effective measures for attracting that manpower in adequate numbers to effective selection of an efficient working force†. Accordingly, the purpose of recruitment is to locate sources of manpower to meet job requirements and job specifications.Recruitment has been regarded as the most important function of personnel administration, because unless the right type of people are hired, even the best plans, organizational charts and control systems would not do much good. According to Flippo views recruitment both as positive and negative activity. He says it is a process of searching for prospective employees and stimulating and encouraging them to apply for jobs in an organization. It is often termed positive in that it stimulates people to apply for jobs to increase the â€Å"Hiring ratio’’ i. . , the number of applicants for a job. Selection, on the other hand tends to be negative because it rejects a good member of those who apply, leaving only the best to be hired’’ A careful and comprehensive approach towards recruitment can ensure that you select the right person for the job, both for now and in the future. Theoretically speaking, Recruitment and Selection are two separate functions. Recruitment deals with the forming a pool of applicants for a particular job, whereas Selection deals with finding the best one of the lot.In the first part of the project the various stages of Recruitment and Selection have been defined. However, it must be noted that in practice, Recruitment and Selection are considered to be synonymous and used interchangeably. 14. Generally, every organization has its own recruitment policy. It may vary year to year in the light of changing environments, situations. Recruitment as a matter of fact is a process used by an organization to locate and attract jobseekers in order to fill the job positions.An organi zation has to choose that recruitment method and sources which produce the best pool of candidates quickly and cost effectively. The Recruitment is known as a process because certain important steps are required to be followed while recruitment the candidates. The following are the three important stages of a recruitment process is planning, Implementation, Evaluation. Before coming to details of recruitment, it is useful to note that, contrary to popular perception, this is an ongoing process and not confined to the formative stages of an organization.Employees leave the organization in search of greener pastures—some retire and some die in the saddle. More important an enterprise grows, diversifies, takes over other units—all necessitating hiring of new and more capable employees. In fact, this function stops only when the organization ceases to exist. MEANING AND DEFINITION According to Edwin B. Flippo, â€Å"Recruitment is the process of searching the candidates f or employment and stimulating them to apply for jobs in the organization†. Recruitment is the activity that links the employers and the job seekers.A few definitions of recruitment are: * A process of finding and attracting capable applicants for employment. The process begins when new recruits are sought and ends when their applications are submitted. The result is a pool of applications from which new employees are selected. * It is the process to discover sources of manpower to meet the requirement of staffing schedule and to employ effective measures for attracting that manpower in adequate numbers to facilitate effective selection of an efficient working force. 5| | PURPOSES AND IMPORTANCE OF RECRUITMENT PROCESS The general purpose of recruitment is to provide a pool of potentially qualified job candidates. Specifically, the purposes are to: * Attract and encourage more and more candidates to apply in the organization. * Determine the present and future requirements of th e organization in conjunction with its personnel planning and job analysis activities * Increase the pool of job candidates at minimum cost Help increase the success rate of the selection process by reducing the number of visibly, under qualified or overqualified job applicants * Help reduce the probability that job applicants, once recruited and selected, will leave the organization only after a short period of time * Meet the organizations legal and social obligations regarding the composition of its workforce * Begin identifying and preparing potential job applicants who will be appropriate candidates * Increase organizational and individual effectiveness in the short term and long term * Evaluate the effectiveness of various recruiting techniques and sources for all types of job applicants. Recruitment represents the first contact that a company makes with potential employees. Sources of Recruitment Process Before an organization activity begins recruiting applicants, it should consider the most likely sources of the employee it needs. Some companies try to develop new sources, while most only try to tackle the existing sources they have. These sources accordingly may be termed as internal & external sources. Recruitment process naturally comprises of two major factors they are External sources and internal sources. Internal SourcesThey include those who are already on the payroll of the organization and those who served the organization in the past (but quit voluntary or due to retrenchment) and would like to return if the organization likes to re employ. There is merit in looking for internal resources since they provide opportunities for better deployment and utilization of existing human resources through planned placements and transfers or to motivate people through planned promotion and career development where vacancies exist in high er grades. The law provides preference to retrenchment employees when vacancies arise in future. Generally, the policy is to prefer internal sourcing, as own employees know the company well and can recommend candidates who fit the organization’s culture. As the management has the better of the strengths and weaknesses of its employees, proper decision can be taken to promote or transfer or to demote and thereby, the chances of making wrong decision can be considerably reduced. Disadvantages of Internal sources:- * Internal recruitment restricts the options and freedom for the enterprises in choosing the most suitable candidates for the vacancies. Selection is a long process, commencing from the preliminary interview of the applicants and ending with the contract of employment.The hiring procedure is not a single act but it is essentially a series of methods or steps or stages by which additional information is secured about the employee. Selection procedure * Screening Screening of applications can be regarded as an integral part of the selection process, though many view it as the last step in the recruitment process. Even the definition on recruitment excludes screening from its scope.However, screening is included in recruitment by some HR professionals. The purpose of screening is to remove from the process, at an early stage, those applicants who are visibly unqualified for the job. Effective screening can save a great deal of time and money. Care must be exercised, however, to assure that potentially good employees are not lost and that women and minorities receive full and fair consideration and are not rejected without justification. How would you direct act one scene one of A Midsummer Night’s Dream? Essay

Act one scene one of â€Å"A Midsummer Night’s Dream† opens by portraying to us the situation between the four lovers. Shakespeare creates the subtle impression that they are perplexed group of people with no balance between them. This provides both comedy and tension throughout the play. The basic complexities between the parties are laid out during this opening scene. A major influence to the direction of this scene is the audience’s perception of the different relationships. Shakespeare more than likely intended this scene to cause confusion as to who loves who, which in turn invites the audience formulate their own ideas. Naturally, the audience will want the four to form two couples instead of one confusing mess. To effectively portray this onstage, the four lovers should be proximate to the one that they love. This will cause a visual divide between the characters because not all of the lovers are happy with those who are in love with them. For example, if Demetrius went about following Hermia, she would continually walk away from him because she does not love him. To further emphasise the divide between the lovers that forms the basis of the first scene, I would direct Hermia’s father Egeus to be very angry with Lysander. He would show this through body language such as thrusting his fists into the air, and tone of voice, which would be loud and harsh. This creates a tense atmosphere onstage and furthermore reinforces the confusion and disapproving dispositions of the characters onstage. The opening section of the first scene gives us the impression that there is confusion between who loves who, and this is obvious to the audience. Shakespeare also tells us that Demetrius once loved Helena, and this hints to the audience that it may happen again – thus solving the ever tangled â€Å"love quartet†. To show this to the audience, when Demetrius talks to Helena, they would often come close as if the rapport between them is very strong, then back away. The general body language of the two would show that there is still a chance of a reunion. By the time that Helena tells Demetrius of Lysander and Hermia’s planned elopement, the audience are aware that if Demetrius did happen to fall in love with Helena again, all would be well. This makes the audience want them to get back together. In order to bring out the comedy in this scene, I would direct the lovers to be very serious: overly deep and preoccupied with their own feelings. The inflated characters taking the ludicrous situation seriously would be comical. The fact that they are selfish and are only concerned with their own feelings in this scene also adds to the comic value. They are funny, however, singularly – they don’t involve relationships with any other character in order to be comical. Act one scene one is used to present the four lovers to us and describe their situation. Each of the four is presented in a different way, and depending on their direction is how the audience would perceive them. Shakespeare presents Helena as completely hung up about her looks. In order to show this, I would have Helena with too much make up on, possibly carrying a mirror and checking herself all the time. Her stage presence would show her as very flamboyant and very melodramatic in her movement, over exaggerating gestures in order to show her self-assured ‘importance’. We know that she is anxious about her looks because of her nervous reaction when Lysander calls her â€Å"fair†. Later on in the scene, Hermia becomes self-conscious about her height. It is her reaction to this that is comical. Firstly, she takes the jests very seriously. I would direct her to show this through facial expression, relaying to the audience her devastation. Secondly, she reacts by mocking Helena – â€Å"Thou painted maypole†. These lines are intrinsically humorous, so using obvious angry facial expressions and perhaps grabbing each other as if to fight would bring out the comic value of the segment. Demetrius is willing to see Hermia executed to prevent her from marrying another man, and Lysander appears to think of himself as a hero in a love story: he is egotistical and pretentious. It is ironic that eh thinks of himself as heroic because he is in fact, the opposite. In order to show Lysander’s naivety and contrast to Demetrius, I would direct him to appear less intelligent than the others. My dramatic intentions in this scene would be to present to the audience the confusion between the four lovers onstage in act one scene one. Why do you think colonel Darling chose sole trader as a form of business organization and when and why might his company have become a partnership. Joshua Darling was a retired army colonel, who returned after the army to Liverpool, where he was born, opened a chocolate factory and set up his own business as a sole trader in July 1933. Why colonel Darling chose a sole proprietorship as a form of business organization? First of all, a sole proprietorship was suitable for his nature as he could be his own boss, lead and motivate people, make independent decisions and be entirely responsible for all aspects of the management of his business.Secondly, after returning from the army to Liverpool, he didn’t have any person to trust in and to help. In the area of ethics, people who are given authority must use various lenses to ensure that the company is meeting the expectations of its employees to guarantee their rights and fair treatment. Developing these virtuous attributes is geared at developing cohesion amongst employees, efficiency, and developing a positive reputation. Although there are many ways to resolve an intercompany dispute, the most ethically sound decision comes from people in positions of power being informed of the issue and setting their sights on ensuring fairness and ruling in favor of the option that creates the greatest overall good. This paper will examine the two Ethics Game examples and follow the worksheet format for answering questions. The issue presented in dilemma number one arises from an employee named Aaron Webb who posted sensitive company information. His posting was not derogatory in nature however the information is considered private. Many companies guard their information and keeping their core competencies sacred in order to remain competitive. Another employee named Jamal Moore sent an anonymous message revealing through hacking into Webb’s computer that Webb has many of these sensitive files loaded on his personal computer. The issue arises of how to respect the personal views of employees outside of the workplace. The primary stakeholders for this issue are the shareholders, the General Counselor, the Director of IT, the VP of HR, Jamal Moore, and Aaron Webb. Some of the duties that the company makes clear are allowing the employee the right to voice their opinion, as guaranteed by the first amendment to the constitution. However, an employer may legally limit this right if the information is considered private and proprietary. Management has the duty to make sure that its information isn’t leaked for the sake of all other stakeholders. There is a duty to address concerns about the company. By allowing this type of communication, problems are clarified and avoided. Employees should be happy when their rights to privacy are protected, their concerns are heard, and important information is guarded. In this dilemma, shareholders have a medium impact. How the company is viewed and evaluated by the public may decrease shareholder confidence and decrease its value. The CLO has a medium impact because his or her judgment may be called into play and reflect their decision making abilities. The VP of HR and the Director of Safety and Security have low impact when it comes to this problem as long as they have both fulfilled their obligations with informing the ultimate decision makers of the problem. Jamal Moore and Aaron Webb have high impact on this decision because this dilemma could potentially end their employment abilities or lead to punishment. My core values of the situation are embodied by recognizing loyalty. Although these employees may be misguided, more information given to them on the issue at hand could serve to make them better employees and avoid litigation. All members of the company must come to a deeper understanding that sensitive materials should be handled with care. As long as the integrity of the department is secured, the company can still benefit. In the second dilemma, there is a need for a security policy that provides for the safety of employees and also accommodates special needs, such as for Aisha Mullah, who is muslim and religiously not allowed to uncover her face in the work environment. The stakeholders in this situation are the company shareholders, the VP of HR, the Associate Director of Operations, other employees, the Training Manager, and Aisha Mullah. As an employee, you should be guaranteed that processes be followed. The right to be informed about security policies and exceptions should also be guaranteed. Arguably the most important, the right to express one’s opinion about policies and their impact should be guaranteed as well. The option that best suits this situation is to implement a photo I. D.  security system and to make accomodations for individuals with special needs. This will have a positive effect on the stakeholders, demonstrating the company’s ability to adapt to the needs of various individuals and be progressive in a diverse world. This decision reflects my core values by not excluding anyone on the basis of religion. Managing diversity means providing the climate for a productive workplace and seeking out qualified employees who should not be the subject of judgment or overlooked due to their race, creed, disability, sex, or place of origin. Other employees see this fairness and view it as attractive. A harsh, less understanding work environment drives employees away. By giving timely feedback to Aisha, treating her fairly, and upholding the company values, the company is strengthened. As a person of power, self development is a continual process and allows an individual to prepare for difficult decisions such as these. On the first simulation, a score of 1 out of 5 was achieved which demonstrates a relatively low risk. On the second simulation a score of 0 out of 5 was achieved which shows virtually no risk. Overall points earned were 25,600 out of 29,000. Important rights to remember for this project are the first amendment to the Constitution, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. People of the United States are guaranteed the right to freedom of speech, and expression. People of the United States are also guaranteed that employers will not discriminate on the basis of religious beliefs. By using the ethical lenses which were demonstrated through this simulation, future leaders of America can be more informed on how to best handle intercompany issues while providing for the best option to all the stakeholders involved. We must be aware of the four lenses and know how to identify the key factors. By being informed and choosing the most virtuous choice available, companies will poise themselves to achieve high praises from their communities, their shareholders, and the stakeholders, down to the individual whose liberties and rights were defended.

Thomas usually interacts with his customers over the phone from his study; sometimes however he does conduct business at the home of his customer to their convenience. When Thomas finds an interested client he firstly explains to the client everything that is involved in the policy. In order for Thomas to calculate the insurance quote, he uses a calculator, a record of tables with the insurance ratings and his diary where he notes all the information down. Thomas insurance ratings show a different variety of things the first table is the insurance group, which shows the basic cost for a car depending on the cars price and power. The more expensive and powerful the car, higher the basic cost. Thomas then adjusts the basic by multiplying by various factors, which could affect the insurance. Age is also a factor, the older the driver is, and the less they are considered as a risk. Sex is also a factor; a female is considered as a less of a risk than males. The area you live in is also a criteria which Thomas considers before issuing an insurance quote, if you live in a high risk sensitive are you are likely to pay more. The customer can then choose what type of insurance he would like; third party only, third party fire and theft or fully comprehensive. TD Insurance Services also offer an extra driver criterion, which can be added at an increased cost. Thomas then offers a discount to the customers if they have had no claims varying from the past year or five years. Thomas then calculates the quote by multiplying the basic cost with all the factor multipliers and seeing if they can get a discount and then giving the customer the final result. NEW SYSTEM: In order to produce the car insurance quotation system I will be using spreadsheet software for many reasons. In a spreadsheet I can use many of the features which will enable me to produce an efficient quotation system. I can use macros, list boxes, combo boxes, V Lookup, IF statements and other features in the system. There is other software such as a word- processor, or a database but they are not suitable for this quotation system because they do not have the features that a spreadsheet does. In a spreadsheet I can use formulas to calculate costs, which is unavailable in a word- processor or a database. INPUT, PROCESSES AND OUTPUT: Input: I will input all the data required using a keyboard into the spreadsheet. The input data I will need in order to produce the quotation system are all the customer details and the headings. I will require the following specifics about the customers: forename, surname, address, sex, model and make of the car. I will also need the age of the driver, which will be in a grouped arrangement e.g. 17- 19 or 60- 65. The type of insurance the driver wants will also be required whether it is, fully comprehensive, third party only or third party fire and theft. I will abbreviate the type of insurance to make it shorter so it would be much quicker to type and also easier. I will also need to know what type of area the driver lives in, as this could be a risk factor, either low, medium or high. I will also need to know if the driver would like to state an extra driver or not. I will also need to know the number of claims the driver has made in the past 4 years and whether he is eligible for a disc ount. The other details I will need to know is about the insurance and which rating the cars are allocated according to their power and cost. I will also need to know about the multipliers so that I can work what I need to multiple the cost, these will be allocated to the sex, age of driver, risk of area and insurance and type. Processes: In order to create the quotation system I will need to carry out a number of processes with the input data in order to produce the output. Once the data has been entered I will need to rename the worksheets and insert a defined name for certain data which will be used in calculations. Option buttons are used for choosing one from a list of options, where you can select one option button at a time. I will be using them so the user can select the sex of the driver, either male or female. Combo boxes can also be called drop- down boxes, which offer a number of choices to the user, one of which maybe selected. I will be using a combo box so that my user can select the drivers car. By selecting on the drop- down arrow will provide the models of the cars. A list box and combo boxes are alike however a list box shows the choices available without having to click on the arrow. I will be using a list box for the risk assessment of the area and type of insurance, as there are only three options from which the user can select. A check box is a box, which can either be selected or unselected, when you click on the box a tick appears in the box. I will be using a check box for the declaration of the extra driver. A spinner is made up of two arrows, one points up and the other down. By clicking on the up arrow increases the value and the down arrow decreases the value. I will be using the spinner to choose the number of years the driver has made no claims. A V Lookup searches for a value in the leftmost column of a table, and then returns a value in the same rows from a column you specify in the table. I will be using a V Lookup formula since I will having different things on different sheets it will need to lookup the values in other cells. I will also be using IF statements in order to see the values of the check box. Macro is a feature that stores a series of commands so that the user can use them with a single command. I will be using macros for various things such as printing the quote, storing the quotes, to view the quotes and other tasks. I will then use a formula to calculate the total cost of the insurance quote and also without the discount. In order to make the quote, which will be printed; much professional and organised I will be adding the name of the company, address, telephone numbers and the company logo at the top. I will also arrange all the information into sections and add colour to make it look more attractive. I will create the macros into buttons so the user can quickly carry the tasks. I will also add a front end to the system. A front end is the name given to the user-friendly interface that will appear on the screen when the file is loaded. It will provide the user with a number of options. Output: The output will be the full quote details, which will be on the screen of the computer showing the customer name, address, car details, the cost of the insurance and without the discount. The output on the screen will also show the macros, which can be used to navigate around the system. The other output will be the fully modified and professional printed quote that will show the company logo long with the companys address and contact numbers. It will also show the issue date, all the details about the quote and the expiry date of the quote.
